Local families will set up tables to sell items at the tag sale and donate $25 to rent the space that will be donated to the Feld family. Area business also have donated items that will be raffled off, including massages and an acoustic guitar.

The event, which starts at 9 a.m. features a full day of entertainment, including a bounce house for the kids, face painting, live music, karate and skateboarding demonstrations. There will be performances by the FCU comedy troupe and a children's book signing with author Thorsten Kaye. Visitors also will be able to purchase local baked goods and crafts by area residents.

“I've been amazed by the outpouring of support we've seen,” said John Fazio Jr., a co-coordinator of the event and a friend of the Feld family. “It shows that Redding truly is a community with a big heart.”

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Redding Fire House on Umpawaug Road. The rain date is Oct. 21.
