WESTPORT, Conn. -- Person-to-Person will collect nonperishable foods on Nov. 3 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to stock its Food Pantry in Norwalk.
“Any nonperishable food donation is most appreciated, but the items needed most right now include beans, canned fruit, hot and cold cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables and hearty soups," said Norwalk Site Manager Callie Jayne.
P2P donation boxes will be at the following Westport polling locations: Coleytown Middle School Gymnasium, Greens Farms Elementary School Auditorium and Gymnasium, Long Lots Elementary School Gymnasium, Saugatuck Elementary School Gymnasium and Westport Public Library.
Nearly 12 percent of Fairfield County struggles with food insecurity and one in six children do not know from where their next meal will come.
P2P Norwalk provided groceries for more than 533,000 meals in 2014.
