The sixth annual outdoor event is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park, Seaview Avenue, Norwalk. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children younger than 5. Seniors ages 62 and older pay $10 per ticket.

Fredericks, a Newtown native, is scheduled to perform at 4 p.m. Saturday. Other entertainment includes Funky Dawgz Brass Band and Tim Currie's Motown Band. For more details on entertainment, visit the Norwalk Seaport Association website.

On "The Voice," as part of Team Pharrell, Fredericks, only 16, became one of the youngest to win. He went on to become the first artist to have 14 songs in the iTunes Overall Top 200 Songs Chart in one week.

Oyster Festival attendees will have plenty of entertainment and activities to choose from over the weekend. For the third year, the Nerveless Nocks Thrill Show will perform motorcycle high-wire acts and other daredevil stunts. Also returning is the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show.

Other attractions include the craft beer tent, the Arts & Crafts Pavilion, an international food court, an oyster-slurping contest and more. For young ones, there will be a Kids' Cove area with rides, games and other entertainment, such as circus acts, music, cartoon characters and more.

Sunday is Family Day, with special family and children’s packages for entrance, rides and meals, organizers said.

The event is operated by the Norwalk Seaport Association, a nonprofit group founded in 1978 to support Norwalk's maritime environment and heritage. The group also owns and operates Sheffield Lighthouse, and sponsors educational programs and special events.
