WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Westport will present CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers live on the Epstein Stage during the annual Summer Gala Concert on Thursday, Aug. 11.
Proceeds from this annual fundraiser help underwrite the Levitt Pavilion’s summer season featuring “50 Free Nights under the Stars.” The evening is made special as Rodgers calls Westport home, noting earlier, “I moved to Westport in 1979 because of the number of artists and performers that lived here. The Levitt Pavilion continues to be one of the finest little artistic gems right in my backyard.”
As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered music that included garnering CHIC 10 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations and pop hits like "Le Freak," which was inducted into the 2015 Grammy Hall of Fame. He has produced for David Bowie, Madonna, Diana Ross, and Sister Sledge and worked with artists like Duran Duran, INXS, Mick Jagger, Grace Jones, Steve Winwood, Peter Gabriel, The B-52s, and Michael Jackson selling over 200 million albums and 50 million singles also collaborating with Daft Punk, Avicii, Disclosure, and Sam Smith
More details about the Levitt Pavilion Summer Gala Concert starring CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers are forthcoming. Concert-only tickets as well as Gala tickets, which include the concert as well as a pre-show cocktail party and after-party, will go on sale to the public via the Levitt Pavilion website starting at noon on Wednesday, July 20.
