FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Souhport-based Near & Far Aid will host the annual Designer House Tour in Fairfield, Southport and Westport on Friday, May 2.
"Following a chilly and snowy winter, long-time philanthropic organization Near & Far Aid will once again delight patrons with its annual Designer House Tour, a destination event that ushers in the spring season like blooming dogwoods and daffodils," representatives said. "The tour is the preeminent destination for lovers of impressive architecture and the latest trends in decorating and unique design."
Near & Far Aid holds the event annually with the help of hundreds of community volunteers. The organization has granted more than $13 million to Fairfield County agencies helping to break the cycle of poverty since 2000.
“The Designer House Tour provides patrons a glimpse of fine living in Fairfield County, showcasing exquisite homes and décor while letting Near & Far Aid continue its important work of providing support programs helping families at risk, homelessness and adults in crisis and other causes,” said Near & Far Aid President Bitsy Higgins of Westport. “We’re excited for this signature event as it always proves to be an inspiring and fun day and it’s another way the community underscores its spirit in helping others through this significant fundraiser."
"The Celebrating the Art of Living” house tour will benefit Near & Far Aid, a charity that provides funding for projects that address the causes and effects of poverty in Fairfield County. Its grants support programs that help families at risk, adults in crisis, homelessness, elderly care and other select categories..
A pre-tour breakfast will take place prior to the day’s event at the Patterson Club in Fairfield. For more information on the Designer House Tour, visit the Near & Fair Aid website.
