WESTPORT, Conn. -- Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts will stage two performances of "Guys and Dolls Jr." this weekend.

The production will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court (off Post Road East) in Westport.

Set in 1950s New York City, "Guys and Dolls Jr." is based on Damon Runyon's stories of lovable thugs and their long-suffering girls. This cornerstone of the musical comedy stage that continues to delight audiences over fifty years after its Broadway premiere.

Featuring the songs "Luck be a Lady," and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," this musical is the perfect balance of story, dance, music and romance. The musical is a fully staged and costumed production performed by MTC students. Directed by MTC co-founder Jim Schilling, with choreography by Sarah Pero, costume design by Diane Vanderkroef and set design by David Heuvelman.

The cast of "Guys and Dolls Jr." is comprised of MTC School of the Performing Arts students: Hudson Berk, Sydelle Bernstein, Miko Coakley, Brianna Cornfield, Josh Horowitz, Hannah Kail, Cassie Lang, Amelia Lanni, Emma Lee, Cessa Lewis, Isabella Partlow, Madelyn Spera and Zach Terrillion of Westport; Tori Fox, Sara Levitt, Katie Urquhart, Maiya Urquhart and Brittany Zacchia of Fairfield; Izzy Angeli and Mei Fisher of Weston; Claire Fraise and Tristan Fraise of Wilton; Karsten Rynearson and Chloe Sweitzer of Rowayton; and Brenna Connolly, Emerson Delmonico and Colleen McGuiness of Milford.
