“Each year, one in three women die of heart disease and stroke, yet it’s 80 percent preventable,” said Go Red For Women spokeswoman Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum. “Change of Heart connects us with passionate women who are united to take action, like scheduling a Well-Woman Visit for themselves, to protect their hearts and the hearts of their mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.”

JoyRide instructor and Wilton resident Selina Santos will share the story of her journey toward becoming heart-healthy.

Each event will include a presentation on heart disease awareness followed by a 50-minute indoor cycling ride.

The program begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Darien studio and at noon in Wilton.

Riders are encouraged to wear red.

Participation is $30 payable at the door and includes a goodie bag of heart disease awareness information, a pin, water bottle and a one-year subscription to SELF or Glamour Magazine. Twenty-five percent of each registration fee will go to Go Red for Women.

Change of Heart is a grass roots fitness program committed to educate women about heart disease and stroke. Presented by SELF Magazine, the program is in support of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement.
