WESTPORT, Conn. -- Award-winning YA author Nora Raleigh Baskin, an instructor with the Fairfield County Writers' Studio in Westport, will host New York Times bestselling author Joyce Maynard in "A Storyteller's Life," on Sunday, April 17.
The audience can arrive beginning at 7 p.m., and enjoy wine and cheese until 7:30 p.m. Maynard's talk will be from 7:30-8:15 p.m., followed by a Q&A. The evening will wind down with book signings and chatting with both authors.
Maynard -- author of "Labor Day" and "To Die For" -- will talk with Baskin about forbidden stories, family secrets and the quest for a real-life happy ending. They will discuss Maynard's latest novel, "Under the Influence," other works, the art of good storytelling and the writing life.
Maynard first came to national attention with the publication of her 1973 New York Times cover story, "An Eighteen Year Old Looks Back on Life," when she was a freshman at Yale. Since then, she has been a reporter and columnist for the Times, a syndicated newspaper columnist whose "Domestic Affairs" column appeared in over 50 papers nationwide, and a regular contributor to NPR and a variety of national magazines.
Baskin is the author of "Ruby on the Outside" and "Anything but Typical" and the forthcoming "Nine, Ten: A September 11 Story." To learn more about Baskins' work, click here.
