Closter Borough Officials, Veteran Groups Ready For Memorial Day Parade

CLOSTER, N.J. -- Plans are underway for the Closter Memorial Day Parade and details are officially unfolding for the Monday, May 30 event.

Details are officially unfolding for the Closter Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 30. It's hosted annually by the American Legion Post 111, the Closter Elks Lodge 304 and the Borough of Closter.

The parade steps off at 10 a.m. and group everyone will assemble in the St. Mary's Church parking lot.

Parade route begins at the corner of Legion Place at High Street and concludes at Veterans Memorial Park. A veteran's ceremony in the park follows the conclusion of the parade. 

A Mayor's Trophy will be awarded to the parade group displaying the most innovative use of red, white and blue. 

Hosted annually by the Leroy S. Mead Post 111 American Legion, the Closter Elks Lodge 304 and the Borough of Closter, the parade honors Closter residents who gave their lives in war and those currently serving.
