WESTON, Conn. -- Glen Englander is courting the area’s seniors with a diverse tennis program especially tailored to the young at heart.
Every Sunday, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., he is hosting a senior’s workshop at Weston High School. No RSVP is necessary; just bring your racquet. The fee is $15 per session.
“Playing tennis is more than just a way to get the body moving,” Englander said.
"It benefits coordination, strategy, endurance and competiveness along with the opportunity for participants to meet one another and socialize.”
By organizing a calendar of senior events, his goal is to encourage players of all ranks and ages to take their rackets out of mothballs and get back on the court. A former tennis director of Westport and Wilton High Schools, Englander is the director for Fairfield County Senior Tennis and on the pro staff of Four Season’s Racquet Club in Wilton.
He is also available for private, semi-private and group lessons including home court instruction. There is a standing invitation for players of all levels who are interested a complementary one-on-one session. To contact Englander, call (203)-736-7272.
