EASTON, Conn. – The Historical Society of Easton welcomes the public to visit a very special exhibit on “One-Room Schoolhouse Education” at the Easton Public Library located at 691 Morehouse Road in Easton.
The exhibit is a pictorial chronicle featuring the history of educating students in the one-room schools that dotted the town of Easton from the late 19th century to 1930.
The Historical Society of Easton has scanned items from its archives - treasures from the past - to add to this exhibit, which will be on display at the Easton Library now through Nov. 30.
Among the featured items on display are photographs of the schoolhouses in addition to their teachers and students as well as original curriculum, student classwork, school newspapers, report cards, tuition bills and invoices of school expenses.
