WESTPORT, Conn. -- Dave Mason, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and legendary co-founder of Traffic, hits the Jesup Green in Westport on Saturday night for a ticketed concert that will help underwrite 50 free nights of music and entertainment under the stars in town.
VIP check in starts at 6:30 p.m. with regular check in at 7 p.m. The concert with the Dave Mason Trio Unplugged begins at 8 p.m. Jesup Green in downtown Westport opens at 6:30 p.m. for picnicking.
Mason has been making music since the age of 18 when he teamed with fellow England native Steve Winwood to form the band Traffic. Since then he has penned dozens of hits.
“We are thrilled to be once again presenting Dave – he packs the lawn every time he is here and is back by popular demand – his shows are pure magic," said Freda Welsh, executive director of the Levitt Pavilion. "An evening with Dave Mason will not only be unforgettable for all who attend – the proceeds we raise that night will help underwrite our free summer season – featuring 10 weeks of concerts and events.”
Proceeds help underwrite the free summer season produced by the Levitt Pavilion. Established by Westport in 1973, it is an independent not-for-profit that presents 50 evenings of world-class performing arts for free each summer. Check the website for a listing of free concerts and events this summer.

A VIP ticket for $100 includes a preconcert cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres and a chair in a premium section of the lawn.
