EASTON, Conn. – The whole family can sample local Easton farm offerings and learn more about the source of food during the fifth annual Easton Farm Tour on Saturday.

Other highlights of the event will be pony rides, a petting zoo and "old-time" fun and games.

Held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event begins at the Easton Firehouse Green, One Center Road, Easton. Here visitors check in and pick up the event map. Attendees can enjoy events and incentives offered by farmers and community organizations at the different locations throughout the day.

Historical Society members in period clothing will share what it was like to grow and cook local food from more than a century ago. Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of Easton farms and greenhouse tours, as well as Easton-grown and -harvested vegetables and fruit directly from the farms.

More than 10 Easton farm and farm stand locations will participate in the tour, including Aspetuck Valley Apple Barn, Blue Button Farm, Buttonwood Farm, O’Kane Tree Farm, Sherwood Farm, Silverman’s Farm, Sport Hill Farm and more.

Skinny Pines, an Easton-based purveyor of wood-fired pizzas, will be on site with its mobile wood-fired oven for more food options.

Local musician Dan Tressler’s String Fingers Band will perform, and the Easton Community Center will have the Green set up for games, including tug of war and a life-size game of checkers.
