WESTPORT, Conn. All eyes were on the stage Wednesday night at Westports Levitt Pavilion as the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus entertained a crowd of hundreds.
Both adults and kids of all ages watched as Ringmistress Philomena Bindlestiff performed her famous whip act using a brave volunteer from the audience. With the crack of a whip, she cut the head of a flower from the stem, which the volunteer was holding with his teeth.
Other performances included Kinko the Clown and his dancing diablos, comic Adam Kuchler with his hats and bags trick, contortionist Miss Ekaterina and more.
The performance was one of the few ticketed events at the Levitt. Proceeds from the event will benefit the campaign for a new Levitt Pavilion. The next ticketed event is the summer gala, featuring Frankie Valli and the Four Season. Tickets are on sale online .
