WESTPORT, Conn. –New York City-based Billy the Artist is painting a 24-foot mural at JoyRide Cycling in Westport on Tuesday, Aug. 25 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day during regularly scheduled classes.
Billy the Artist, an internationally renowned pop artist, will paint the mural as part of the studio’s renovation and redesign.
Well-known for his grand scale designs and improvisational and interactive performances, Billy the Artist has worked with global brands such as Swatch, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, Sony and MTV. Billy, who has a studio in the East Village of New York City, describes his artwork as “urban and primitive.”
“What inspires me and drives me is the people, the energy of the people,” he said.
He will paint during regularly scheduled class times and welcomes interaction from JoyRiders.
JoyRide Cycling Studio is located at 1200 Post Road E., Westport.
