WESTPORT, Conn. -- Aspetuck Land Trust is offering several programs in Fairfield and Westport this summer. Among the programs are:
- Seasonal Tree and Wildlife Hike at Ernest Hillman Preserve in Fairfield, Thursday, July 14, from 7-8 p.m. Learn about trees, birds and other wildlife and their habitats from Milan Bull from the Connecticut Audubon Society. The terrain is easy.
- “A Walk Through Eden: Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Backyard and Woods,” a plant and mushroom walk with an ethnobotanist at Caryl and Edna Haskins Preserve in Westport Sunday, Aug. 14, from 2-3:30 p.m. Did you know many invasive plants make fantastic foods and medicines? Or that many of the weeds painstakingly pulled from your garden are in fact edible and more nutritious than what you can buy in a store? Join ethnobotanist Hayden Stebbins (haydensharvest.com) on a walk through the Caryl and Edna Haskins Preserve in Westport. The terrain is easy.
