Catholic Charities Marks 20 Years Serving Rockland Families

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Four area organziations will be honored at Thursday's Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland  20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner.

Awards at the dinner being held in Congers include two Community Service Awards to Stokes Farm and Alex Bursztein of the Legal Aid Society of Rockland Inc.; a Business Community Service Award to Curti’s Landscaping;  and a Lifetime Volunteer Community Award will be given to Marilyn and Don Colucci.

The Haverstraw-based Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland is an affiliate of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York and is a not-for-profit social service agency.

Established in 1996, the organization provides assistance to individuals and families of all ages, from every race and ethnic group from throughout Rockland County regardless of their religious affiliation.

Its focus is to provide necessities of life, such as food, shelter and emergency assistance for those in need. 

Programs include information and referral, general case management, homelessness and eviction prevention, emergency financial assistance, Nutritional Outreach and Education, a food pantry, Money Management Workshops and Counseling, and immigration legal services.
