WESTON, Conn. -- The second annual Alden Sherman Classic Car Show, which featured a packed field of rare cars and motorcycles at its inaugural event last year, returns to Weston on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Held on the grounds of Weston High School, the event is held in honor of Alden Sherman, a 95-year-old Weston resident who has owned many classic cars in his lifetime.

Everyone attending the show will have the opportunity to vote for his or her favorite cars and motorcycles, with “People’s Choice” trophies awarded to cars representing different decades – from pre-World War II to present day.

The show also includes a silent auction where attendees can bid on special prizes

Last year, Sherman showed off his 1938 Bugatti 57C roadster convertible , which has an estimated value of $1.5 million.

The Alden Sherman Classic is free and open to the public, with a suggested tax-deductible donation at the gate. Proceeds will support the Weston Senior Activities Center, which serves the senior community in Weston and surrounding towns.

John Seigenthaler, Emmy Award-winning former anchor of "NBC Nightly News," another Weston resident, will once again be the master of ceremonies for the event.

There is still limited space left for your classic car. Contact Wendy Petty at wpetty7511@aol.com. Some same-day registrations will be accepted starting at 9:45 a.m.
