What’s Closed, Open This Labor Day In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – With Labor Day coming up, several places around Westport will be closed or operating on a different schedule. Here's what you need to know before heading out Monday.

What's Closed?

▪ Westport Public Schools

▪ Westport Public Library

▪ Westport Town Hall and Board of Education Offices

▪ Westport Weston Family Y

▪ Westport Arts Center

▪ Earthplace Museum

▪ Post Office

▪ Most banks (call ahead to see if your bank is open)

▪ All state and federal offices

What’s Open?

Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, liquor stores and other retail locations are open. However, these places may be operating on a Sunday schedule or special holiday hours. It’s a good idea to call ahead before heading out to any of these establishments.

Trains
If you’re planning a trip via Metro-North, a Sunday schedule will be in effect Monday, with some additions on the New Haven Line. Two extra express trains will depart Grand Central at 3:55 p.m. and 7:57 p.m. Three extra express trains will depart New Haven at 5:47 p.m., 6:47 p.m. and 7:47 p.m.

A regular weekend schedule will be in effect Saturday and Sunday. Check train times on the Metro-North website.
