WESTPORT, Conn. – If you haven’t yet tried Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Café in Westport, now is your chance. In celebration of its grand opening, the restaurant is hosting a sushi and sake tasting open to the public beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
During the event, guests will “have the chance to sample fresh, high-quality sushi and a selection of quality sake,” the restaurant’s public relations manager said in a grand opening announcement.
The restaurant will donate 20 percent of the sales generated during the event to Homes With Hope, a Westport-based nonprofit that provides supportive housing and programming to the homeless, the announcement said.
Located at 4 Church Lane, the Pink Sumo opened on Nov. 26. Restaurant hours are Mondays through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. To make reservations, call 203-557-8080.
The restaurant will be closed to the public Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. for a private, invitation-only celebration.
