Although he was already exposing himself to crop forecasting during his first encounter with the pepper, after the taste, he began focusing on a way to get the pepper back to his native New York, reported grubstreet.com.

After he opened Ark Foods in September 2013 and hauled in more than 500,000 pounds of peppers the same year, the company became one of the biggest producers not only in New York, but reaching retailers including Whole Foods in California, reported grubstreet.com.

Using data to continue expanding his business, Robbins continues to search for not only the next big ingredient, but a way to expand the market and find new flavors for the people, reported grubstreet.com.
