WESTPORT, Conn. – Anyone 18 and older looking for summer work can apply to the Westport Weston Family Y for a spot as a counselor for Camp Mahackeno.
“We were projecting slightly higher enrollment this summer from last year and staffed appropriately, but are happy to report that registration of new campers has stayed strong over the past couple of weeks,” Camp and Youth Director Meaghan George said in a press release.
“Families finalize their summer plans later and later each year, and we’re glad that they are choosing to have their children spend at least part of the summer with us.”
The camp, located at the Y’s 32-acre Mahackeno Outdoor Center along the Saugatuck River, welcomed its first wave of campers June 25. Camp programs run through Aug. 24.
Interested candidates must be 18 or older and have experience with children. Applications may be submitted to Meaghan George at the Y’s downtown facility, 59 Post Road E., or via email at mgeorge@westporty.org.
