The proceeds, which came from the chamber’s third annual Slice of Saugatuck Festival, will benefit the Gillespie Center Food Pantry.
“It’s always great handing that check over,” said WWCC Executive Director Matthew Mandell in a press release, “I’m glad that we bought back the festival so we could do it again.”
“Last month the festival fed those who could afford to eat, now it gets to feed those who might not otherwise have that opportunity.“
This is the second time the Chamber has donated proceeds from the festival to Homes with Hope.
“This is a great partnership for us,” said Homes with Hope Executive Director Jeff Weiser in a press release.
“This donation gives us the ability to refill (the food pantry’s) shelves when we need to, which is important during different times of the year.”
