Nelson, who works as an associate attorney at Nusbaum & Parrino PC, was among nearly 300 of the best and brightest attorneys under the age of 40 to be nominated and one of 60 attorneys selected who "stand out as a new leader in the Connecticut profession," a press release said.

The Connecticut Law Tribune selected the attorneys for their achievements in "legal work, pro bono efforts and community involvement," the release said.

Nelson and the other New Leaders in the Law were included in a yearbook published by the Law Tribune on Nov. 4. The designees and their guests were also invited to a New Leaders in the Law awards dinner held Nov. 7 at the Bond Ballroom in downtown Hartford where they received a plaque and heard a speech from Connecticut's Deputy Attorney General Nora R. Dannehy.

Nelson joined the family law practice of Nusbaum & Parrino as an associate attorney in April. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, and is a member of the American, Connecticut and Fairfield County bar associations. She is an appointed member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section.
