Business Insider and Foursquare teamed up to determine the most popular fast-food chain in each state. And the hands down winner was Chick-fil-A, which is No. 1 in 40 states, including Connecticut.

That might come as a surprise in Connecticut, where there are only eight:

  • Brookfield,
  • Danbury Fair Mall
  • Enfield
  • Mohegan Sun Resort
  • North Haven
  • Norwalk
  • Wallingford
  • West Hartford

The newest location of Chick-Fil-A opened just this week, on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk. Click here for the story from the Daily Voice.

What are the other top fast-food choices? The exceptions were:

  • McDonald's in Alaska, Washington D.C.,
  • Raising Cane's in California
  • Popeye's in Hawaii and South Dakota
  • Culver's in Kansas
  • White Castle in Nevada
  • Taco Bueno in Oklahoma
  • In-N-Out Burger in Texas and Utah
  • Wendy's in Vermont
