Sidewalk Sales Draw Crowds To Downtown Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – There was more foot traffic than usual throughout downtown Westport on Friday afternoon as shoppers browsed for bargains on clothing, shoes, accessories and more during the first day of the annual Westport Downtown Merchants Association Sidewalk Sale.

“There’s something about a sidewalk sale that I can’t resist,” said Colleen Mallery of Stamford, who was browsing through clothes outside LF. She said she was in town to visit a friend.

“I’ve been to my fair share of sales, and this one is pretty nice. I like the variety of stores.”

Stores up and down Main Street and beyond are participating in the sale, which continues through Sunday.
