Cotélac, which translates to "by the lake," is bringing its chic yet comfortable French style to Westport. The store focuses on women’s ready-to-wear clothing and accessories.

The collection is designed by Raphaelle Cavalli, whose passion for fabric innovation and visual effects guide the brand’s aesthetic. Raphaelle draws her artistic inspiration from musicians, painters, and personal travels; she incorporates prints and colors in unexpected ways to create her own designs. The pieces are light, easy to layer, sometimes reversible and always comfortable.

Catherine Groener, general manager of Cotélac U.S.A, previously owned a children's clothing store named Little Feet/Bebop in Westport at the exact same location. However, after owning the store for 15 years, she decided it was time to move on.

Using her extensive experience and affinity for French fashion and style, Groener has developed the American market for Cotélac, opening stores in New York, Boston and California. The opening of the Westport store marks her seventh U.S. location.

“It means a lot to be back in Westport. I’m hoping some of my past customers from the Little Feet and Bebop days stop by,” said Groener.

A grand opening celebration will take place in April, but a soft opening is planned for March 28. Cotelac’s Westport store will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
