A sign on the Westport storefront said: “Dear Customers, We are sad to say that we are no longer open for business in Westport. We appreciate your patronage for the past two years and we hope to see you around at our Darien location. Sincerely, The NEAT Team”

NEAT opened its Darien location in 2009. The Westport store opened in September 2014 in National Hall on Wilton Road, the site of a former fire station that sits close to the Saugatuck River. The Westport locale offered a unique twist in that it also provided artisanal cocktails, international wines and craft beers along with new spins on bar food during evening hours.

The venture was a joint effort with Rachel Haughey, owner of NEAT, and Experience Hospitality Group, with Managing Director Daniel Lalumiere and Experience owner Bobby Werhane, according to a Daily Voice story when the Westport shop opened.

The NEAT website describes the shop as a “artisan coffee bar and roasting company that operates with quality-obsessed precision in sourcing, roasting and brewing coffee.”
