Move By Bridgewater Associates From Westport To Stamford Is In Doubt

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A year-and-a-half after Gov. Dannel Malloy announced the state's intention to award Westport-based Bridgewater Associates a $115 million grant to build a new headquarters in Stamford, the hedge fund giant is no closer to moving down the I-95 corridor, according to CT Post.

The proposed 850,000-square foot facility has stalled since disagreements about the building's effect on Stamford's boatyards, among other disputes, according to the article.

Further doubt about Bridgewater's move reportedly surfaced when remediation of the proposed site stopped September. The company also filed an application for a zoning change in Westport last week to possibly renovate and expand its current headquarters, according to the article.
