WESTPORT, Conn. – Amy Hochhauser and Rhodie Lorenz, co-founders of JoyRide Cycling Studio in Westport and Darien, a fitness boutique dedicated to high-end indoor cycling and cross-training classes, have acquired two licensed Connecticut locations –JoyRide Ridgefield and JoyRide Wilton.
The studios will be under the management of Hochhauser, the CEO, and Lorenz, the chief creative officer. Hochhauser will be in charge of the business and operations. In addition to being the lead instructor, Lorenz is in charge of hiring and training all JoyRide instructors in the exclusive JoyRide Method, which she created.
As a result, there will be universal pricing across all four studios, and riders will be able to use one common class pack at any of the company’s four studios. Another benefit will be increased access to JoyRide’s pool of instructors, who now will be able to rotate across the locations, offering a more varied experience.
“Centralizing all Connecticut locations together under common ownership is an important step in unifying the brand and class offerings,” said JoyRide CEO and co-founder Hochhauser. “With the growth and popularity of JoyRide across Connecticut, we wanted to create a more uniform brand experience for our customers.”
Hochhauser, Lorenz and Debbie Katz, all Westport residents, co-founded JoyRide in June 2011, when they opened their first studio in Westport. Their goal was to create high-end boutique studios that offer challenging workouts led by instructors and set to motivating music. They opened a second studio in Darien in 2013. In 2014, Ridgefield residents Amy Pal and Corey Londoner opened JoyRide Ridgefield as the first licensed studio, and a year later, Pal and her husband, Kevin Manley, opened JoyRide Wilton.
"We are thrilled to have played a part in laying the foundation of JoyRide's success across Fairfield County by expanding in the towns of Ridgefield and Wilton," Pal said.
