Jenn Skiba, the creative mind behind Seaduced Sea Glass, is looking for votes in the FedEx Small Business Grant contest running now through April 5 online.

Top vote winners will receive one of 10 small business grants, including a $25,000 grand prize.

Opened in 2015, Seaduced “began with a passion to connect humanity with the magnetic vibrations of the ocean,” according to its Facebook page.

Skiba creates jewelry featuring sand-smoothed sea glass that she sells on the Seaduced website and Etsy and at shows and Black Rock Farmers Market.

"I love artfully playing with the perception of broken beauty," she told Daily Voice. "There's a creative challenge in changing others' reactions of discarded glass and trying to capture that exciting connection between the nostalgia of the ocean and wearable jewelry.

Skiba said she believes advanced education in business and jewelry creation is key to her success. To that end, she’d use any grant money to pay for classes at business school and Flourish and Thrive Academy, which focuses on jewelry design businesses.

She would also work on her jewelry-making skills at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan and New York City-based Jewelry Arts, Inc.
