WESTPORT, Conn. – Take your taste buds on a culinary tour of Westport this week — without draining your bank account.
Now through Saturday, 20 eateries are offering special three- or four-course prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner in celebration of Restaurant Week .
“Try a new restaurant or dine at an old favorite,” said Lisa Parrelli Gray, executive director and president of the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event. “Our restaurants are a vital part of our community. Supporting Restaurant Week will enhance the businesses and the nonprofits partnering with them in 2013.”
Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Café, Tarry Lodge, Spotted Horse Tavern, Moja Café, Arezzo Ristorante, Rizzuto’s, Bobby Q’s, Tabouli Grill and Terrain Garden Café are some of the restaurants participating.
In addition to enjoying specially priced menus, diners can participate in a Patron Rewards program, a new Restaurant Week initiative.
As part of the program, anyone who dines a minimum of three times at any of the participating restaurants will have the chance to win gift certificates to their favorite local restaurants or tickets to the Westport Country Playhouse production of “The Dining Room.”
Restaurant Week also allows residents to help feed needy residents throughout the area. Each participating restaurant will collect canned or nonperishable food for Homes With Hope, a Westport-based nonprofit that supports the homeless. Donated items will help stock the nonprofit’s food pantry.
Diners interested in participating in the Patron Rewards program can receive a rewards punch card at participating restaurants. At the end of Restaurant Week, these cards can be dropped off at the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road; Westport National Bank, 1495 Post Road E.; or CitiBank, 399 Post Road W.
Winners will be contacted March 31. More details about the program, as well as a full list of participating restaurants, are available on the chamber’s website .
Diners are encouraged to make reservations with participating restaurants.
