Arezzo Italian Restaurant Opens In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – You can take in Saugatuck River views and traditional Italian fare at Arezzo Ristorante Bar, the newest addition to Westport’s growing dining scene. Located at 5 Riverside Ave., the space of the former Napoli Sul Fume restaurant, Arezzo debuted to the public Friday evening with a soft opening.

The restaurant, named after a city in central Italy, has an outdoor patio overlooking the river and a rustic dining room featuring high ceilings, skylights, exposed wood beams and a bar. Currently, the dinner menu includes antipasti, salads, pasta dishes, seafood dishes, and chicken and meat dishes.

On the outdoor patio, Fairfield residents Judith Rhodes and Martha Hughes were among the restaurant’s first customers of the night. “So far, it’s excellent,” said Rhodes, who was eating a salad while Hughes sipped on a glass of red wine.

Arezzo will be open seven days a week, said Ben Meluzio, whose wife, Adele Deglinnocenti, owns the restaurant.

This Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant will be open for dinner, Meluzio said. Beginning Monday, it will likely be open for lunch and dinner. In the coming weeks, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch will be served, he said.

The restaurant was established in New York City in 2004 and was Zagat rated. Reservations are not required but are suggested. There is no formal dress code.

To make reservations or for questions, call the restaurant at 203-557-9375. The restaurant website is expected to go live next week at www.arezzowestport.com.
